The sister island to Zanzibar is also known as the “Green Island” due to its lush tropical vegetation with clove and mango plantations, rice fields, green hills and valleys and palm fringed coastline. It’s also considerably less developed than Zanzibar. In many cases, the only way to get to the few resorts on the island is by boat.

This exceptionally fertile land has surprisingly few visitors due to the popularity of nearby Zanzibar, which makes this a magical beach destination for those who like the path less traveled.
