Bilila is the only luxury lodge in the northern Serengeti, and situated an hour away from the busy center of the park at Seronera. As such it occupies a huge area all to itself. Big and bold like its surroundings, the 74-room lodge was the most expensive property built on the Tanzanian safari circuit, at more than $50 million. It is a true five-star resort with infinity pools, sun decks, an impressive wine cellar, spa, swimming pool and beautiful terraces. There are four classes of rooms, including two levels of suite plus a presidential suite that has its own private gym.The internal architecture is typical of Kempinski’s modern properties in Europe, somewhat minimalist and beautifully artistic. The lodge uses lavish amounts of the hard binga binga wood found in the area.Easy game drives from the area include the beautiful Lobo Kopjes. A slightly longer excursion takes guests to the Seronera Valley, one of the most densely populated animal areas of the park year-round.
