Day 1: JOHANNESBURG

Learn of South Africa's turbulent past on this day tour. In the morning, see the Hector Pieterson Memorial, Chris Ham Baragwanath Hospital (largest in Africa), and various community development projects of Soweto (South Western Townships). After time for lunch, a guided tour of the Apartheid Museum traces the history of racial segregation, the Soweto Uprising, the ANC, solitary confinement, and the birth of a new democratic country.
